Description:
Students in this course learn how to design Web sites. Included are site planning, page layout, graphic design, and the use of markup language. Forms and scripts are used to add interactivity and database access to the Web sites.

Objectives:
The student will be able to…
-Identify, use and evaluate Internet programming software and Web sites.
-Create a web site with active links, multimedia files, and image map.
-Create tables and forms using markup language text and enhance pages by adding scripting and Java where appropriate
-Construct a commercial Web site design.

Methods of Instruction: Class lecture, question/answer, drill/application, modules, individual & group work, audio-visual aids, student reports, and guest speakers.

Classroom Rules:
Students are expected to adhere to the rules and regulations as stated in the Chattahoochee High School Student Handbook. Students are also expected to:
1. Be on time
2. Be prepared
3. Stay on task
4. Be respectful of oneself, others, and all classroom equipment

Makeup Work:
It is the student’s responsibility to approach the instructor about completing any makeup work. An excused absence should preferably be brought to my attention prior to the absence. Extended computer lab hours will be posted on the board at the beginning of every week. Appointments can be made with me to discuss these assignments.

Chattahoochee High School Guidelines:
Recovery is available to students with a curriculum grade below 74% after a minimum of two (2) major grades. The maximum grade a student can earn for a recovery activity is 70%. There will be only one recovery opportunity per failed major assignment or test. The individual teacher will determine the means of recovery. The student must initiate the process within (5) days of notification of a failing grade on a major assignment/test.

DESCRIPTION
Knowing how to use a variety of computer applications software is a basic skill for everyone. Students in this course become proficient in word processing, database, spreadsheet, publishing, communication and time/task management, document and image manipulation, and presentation software. Students will employ a variety of input methods including keyboard, voice recognition, and handwriting recognition. This course is a prerequisite for all other courses in both Business and Information Technology and Information Technology.

OBJECTIVES
: Create documents using advanced features of a word processor.
: Create a database table and manipulate data within it.
: Create a spreadsheet using advanced features of a spreadsheet application.
: Create various documents using desktop publishing software.
: Design and create presentations using advanced features of presentation software.
: Create and manage effective e-mail communications and will be able to manage time and task.

Late work is not accepted unless previous arrangements are made with the teacher prior to the due date.

Due to the nature of a computer class, all work must be made up in the computer lab before school. Students are required to sign in when using the lab other than during class. Make-up dates and times will be posted on the board each week.

Description:
Business management helps students understand various management theories, basic management functions and their interrelationships, and the organization and competitive niche of a business. This course will help students build a strong knowledge base and develop management skills as they study the functions of management; organizational structures; human resources management; financial management; operations management; general management skills; marketing/competitive advantage; ethics; and government regulations and community involvement.

This course develops basic skills in information technology, systems management, operating systems, data communications, networking, the Internet, and basic concepts of programming. Students also develop an awareness of the social, ethical, and legal issues in the information technology field.

Objectives:
The student will be able to…
- identify the basic terminology, history, impact on society, hardware, and software associated with information technology.
- install/configure software programs and evaluate software packages.
- describe the basic operating system and its function.
- explain data communications methods.
- identify the basic network topologies and types of networks.
